 EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS SHINE ON WCHS SCHOLARSHIP EXAM

We are happy to announce that St. Ann Regional School eighth grade students won six of the top seven spots on the 2008 Wildwood Catholic Scholarship Exam.  Congratulations to the following students on their achievement:

                                                            2nd place           Michael Capozzoli

                                                            3rd place            Clara Mathis

                                                            4th place            Christopher Neenhold

                                                            5th place            James McNally

                                                            6th place            Brianna Yuhas

                                                            7th place            Trevor Cooper

We also recognize the team of teachers and parents who supported them along the way and wish them well in their studies at Wildwood Catholic High School next year.

 
 CHESS CLUB TOURNAMENT WINNERS    
Our Chess Club Tournament was held on Monday, May 5, 2008.  Participants included Corey Clark, Harry McNally, Thomas Thornton, Zach Thornton, Matthew Love, Eddie Kane, Augie Kane and Francis McCarty.  The Division I winner was Augie Kane and the Division II winner was Francis McCarty.  Congratulations and many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Szczur who moderated this activity all year.
 
 100 BOOK CHALLENGE
As of May 21, 2008 we would like to congratulate to our most recent members of the 25 Hour Club of the 100 Book Challenge:  Thomas Shute, Julia Byrne, Lena Cassidy, Maghi Draghi, Antonio Melendez, Meghan Courtney, Michael Haldeman, Ashley Hennessey, John Adair, Michael Madden, and Edward McWade.  The following students are new members of the 50 Hour Club:  Maggie Peters, and Susane Kim.  Students joining the 75 Hour Club are:  Lily Bradshaw, Dara Baker, and Manuel Panesso.

We congratulate the following students for reaching 25 hours in the 100-Book Challenge:  Brielle Becker, Owen Haldeman, Thomas Logan, Joseph Mathis, Madison Sloan, Danielle Spina, Ava Vandepol, Dennis Libro, and Edward McWade.  New members of the 50-hour Club include Eileen McNulty, and Molly McNulty.  Susane Kim and Jack Winans join the 75-hour Club and Angela Becker and Lily Bradshaw join the 100-hour Club.  Sarah Morano, Grade 6, reached 125 hours!  Congratulations to Sarah and all our super readers.  Remember to exercise your brain this summer by continuing to read.

Our Boys’ Junior Varsity Basketball Team was victorious coming from behind in an exciting game and now joins our Varsity Boys as Cape Atlantic Catholic League Champions

We are pleased to announce that Dillon Barry, Lauren DeVico and Allyson Clark have reached 25 hours of the 100 Book Challenge.  Dara Baker, Sarah McBride and Jack Winans have reached the 50 hour step of the 100 Book Challenge. Last but not least AT ALL is Sarah Morano who has reached 75 hours.  Read on!   Congratulations to all of our students.

 

We are pleased to announce that James Cammarano, Meghan Chambers, Celine Salvesen, and Manuel Panesso have reached 25 hours of the 100 Book Challenge.  Lily Bradshaw, Grade 4, has reached the 50 hour step of the 100 Book Challenge.  Congratulations to all!

The Cape May Patriots Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has announced the winners of their 2008 American History essay competition.  Brianna Yuhas and Taylor Bradshaw, Grade 8, are the 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively of the contest

 
Let’s have a round of applause for our latest members of the 25-Hour Club of the 100 Book Challenge:  Hennessey Barry, and Ian France of Grade 3 as well as David McNulty, Grade 2.
 
Congratulations to Matt Camp, Grade 5, for receiving the Cub Scouts’ Arrow of the Light Award.  This is the highest award given by the Cub Scouts for outstanding achievement.
 
Congratulations to Corey Clark, first place, and Augie Kane, runner-up of our annual spelling contest.  Corey will move on to the county level contest.  Good luck!

The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest was held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at St. Ann School.  We congratulate the age group winners:

Congratulations to Brielle Becker, Grade 1, who was a winner in the Cape May County Consumer Affairs Halloween Coloring Contest.  Brielle and her parents will be presented with her prize at the County Freeholders’ Meeting on December 11.

 

We are pleased to announce that Jimmy McNally, Grade 8, is the local winner of the 2007 Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest.  He received a monetary award and his essay will be forwarded on to the state level contest.

 
Congratulations to our Fourth Grade students who have achieved 25 hour club status of the 100 Book Challenge.  We recognize Lily Bradshaw, Mia Capozzoli and Samuel Clarke. 
 

The 25 hour club status of the 100 Book Challenge is growing.  We congratulate fourth grade students Angela Becker and Katie Fiore as well as sixth grade students Sarah Morano and Jack Winans.
