PTA is sponsoring a recycling
fundraising project that earns our school money while helping the
environment at the same time. Please help us by sending in your
empty ink cartridges (ANY type) and any old cell phones (in ANY
condition). No chargers or adapter are needed. The phones can be
submitted with our without a battery although they are more valuable
with.
Empty ink cartridges thrown away go to
our already overfilled landfills. It takes over 1,000 years for one
ink cartridge to decompose. Ink left in these disposed cartridges
leaks into the soil which is not good for our environment.
We have joined with Print Again Ink for
this recycling project. They will reimburse us a small amount for
each item submitted. If you would like more information about Print
Again Ink, please call Gary Madrack at 634-6408 or visit the website
at PRINTAGAININKDV.COM.
We plan to ask local businesses to
participate. If you know of anyone that would be interested, please
let me know. I would be happy to pick up any cartridges or cell
phones. I can be reached through the school office.
This project has no end date as
recycling is so important and should become a lifelong habit for all
of us.
