Detective Kevin Madore of the Cape May CountyProsecutor's
Office brought an 'Internet Safety'presentation to the 7th and 8th
graders at St. Ann Regional.As a member of the Computer Crimes section
of the prosecutor's office, he has a wealth of knowledge on computer use
and safety. He impressed upon the junior high students the
importance of keeping 'Myspace' profiles private and only communicating
with known friends. When posting pictures, permission should always be
granted.Child predators are known to 'pose' as teens and gather
information which can potentially harm our young people. Detective
Madore stressed the need to tell a parent or or trusted adult about
online activity and anything that seems unusual. Cyber bullying
was also discussed and ways to protect themselves were explained. For
